La Terrazza de la Medina since 1996 A taste of history
A Culinary Journey Through Tangier’s Heart
Welcome to La Terrazza de la Medina
Set beside the historic Bab el-Assa, at the gateway of Tangier’s Kasbah, our rooftop stands where the city once lived its golden age. This very corner, overlooking the medina, inspired Henri Matisse when he painted La Porte de la Kasbah, capturing the light, geometry, and soul of Tangier that drew artists, poets, and musicians from around the world.
Each dish tells a story of this city. From slow-cooked tagines to delicate briouats and fresh seasonal salads, every bite is a fragment of Tangier’s living heritage—shaped by cultures, crossings, and centuries of exchange. As the sun sets over the Mediterranean and the Strait of Gibraltar stretches beyond the Casbah, our cuisine invites you to taste the real magic of Tangier, not as a visitor, but as part of its story.
